Backlog: Monster

Monster, my chinchilla.

Monster is my chinchilla. A chinchilla is a rodent that is almost the size of a ground squirrel. I got him on October 13/2005. it took me almost three years to tame him and it is a continuous process. if you anger him, he pisses on you. he will test you out to see if you are edible. he takes dust baths and it is the most adorable thing to see. when i let him out for exercise, he will go back to his cage and pass out almost to the point you would think he was dead because his heartbeat is so slow. apparently it is normal for chinchillas to do this. he also barks, chirps, and makes a lot of various noises.

Chinchillas are originally from the Andes in South America and are named after the Chincha people. they have a long history and have been breed for their fur. their fur is exceptionally soft, and they can live up to 15 years. Crazy!
